What is YokeDev?
YokeDev is an AI-powered development environment and hosting platform. You connect an AI assistant (like Claude) to your own isolated server, and the AI builds, deploys, and manages your applications through natural conversation. Think of it as a complete development team in a box. Note: YokeDev provides the environment and hosting. You bring your own AI subscription (we recommend Claude Pro).
How does the 48-hour free trial work?
Sign up with just your email -- no credit card required. After verifying your email, you get full access to a Builder-tier environment for 48 hours. Before your trial ends, we'll email you. If you choose a plan, billing starts. If not, your project is archived for 30 days.
Why is a credit card needed after the trial?
Each project runs on a dedicated virtual machine with real computing resources that cost us money to provide. After your trial ends, you choose a plan and add a payment method to keep your project running. No card is required to start your trial.
What AI models can I use? Is AI included?
YokeDev works with any AI assistant that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol). We recommend Claude Pro from Anthropic for the best experience. Your AI subscription is separate from your YokeDev plan and is not included in the pricing above. You connect your AI to your project's MCP endpoint, and it gets full access to your development environment, file system, and deployment tools.
Can I export my code?
Absolutely. Your code is yours. You can export your entire project at any time as a ZIP file, complete with Dockerfile and deployment instructions for other platforms. There is zero vendor lock-in.
What happens if I cancel?
When you cancel your subscription, your project keeps running until the end of your current billing period. After that, the VM is shut down and runtime data (databases, uploads, environment variables) is lost. Your source code is preserved in Git for 30 days. You can resubscribe during that window to get a new VM with your code restored, but you will need to redeploy and reconfigure your project. We recommend exporting your code before cancelling.
Is my code private and secure?
Yes. Every project runs on its own isolated virtual machine. Your code, data, and environment are completely separate from other users. Secrets and API keys are encrypted at rest and never exposed to AI assistants. All connections use TLS encryption.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not necessarily. YokeDev is designed so that anyone can build applications through conversation with AI. That said, having some understanding of what you want to build helps you give better instructions. The AI handles the actual code writing, deployment, and infrastructure.
